What To Expect
Assessment & Treatment
Following assessment, treatment may include a combination of hands-on osteopathic techniques such as soft tissue work, joint articulation, manipulation, dry needling, movement assessment, and mobility work where appropriate.
Osteopathic assessment may include observation of posture and movement patterns, active and passive range of motion testing, joint mobility assessment, tissue quality and tension, strength and control testing, palpation, and functional movement assessment. This helps build a broader understanding of the factors that may be contributing to pain, stiffness, reduced mobility, or recurrent symptoms.
Treatment is always tailored to the individual, taking into account lifestyle, work demands, activity levels, medical history, and personal goals.
Initial Consultation
Your appointment will begin with a detailed discussion about your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and goals. Osteopaths are trained to assess how different parts of the body may be contributing to pain or movement difficulties.
Rehabilitation & Advice
Where appropriate, you may also be given tailored exercises and practical advice to support recovery and help maintain the progress made during treatment. This might include simple mobility, strengthening, or movement-based exercises to work on between sessions - helping to build longer-term improvements rather than relying on hands-on treatment alone.
We bring everything needed for treatment, including a portable treatment table and equipment. Most appointments can comfortably take place in a living room, or other quiet space within the home.
Home visits are currently available within approximately a 5-mile radius of Beckenham. If you are unsure whether your address falls within the service area, please feel free to get in touch before booking.
